As part of his recent visit to New York, preceded by a visit to Los Angeles, VZMD President Kristjan Verbič addressed (VIDEO: www.facebook.com/vzmd.si/videos/598723519122361/) the American actors and screenwriters that are members of the professional associations SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of TV & Radio Artists) and WGA (Writers Guild of America), where he was met with outstanding approval and applause.
As a representative of a non-government organization involved in the protection of stakeholders’ rights in Slovenia and Croatia, Mr. Verbić talked to the strike organizers and numerous attendants, and stressed the extraordinary weight of the strike in the global context and its importance for many other professions, creators, and social groups and classes, who will increasingly face these problems in the future. In this respect, he particularly emphasized the challenges brought by the "artificial intelligence" (AI) and delivered a formal message of support from the Screen Actors Guild of Slovenia.
