LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – active participation of the VZMD international business-investor programs at the resounding conference organized by the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry − a debate on asset management with eminent guests and participant

The conference took place at the largest and most renowned conference venue in central London, Central Hall Westminster. The event kicked off with panels of the Luxembourg Institute of Directors (ILA) and discussions, which included numerous directors of international corporations, mainly from the financial industry. In the evening, the conference continued with a cocktail reception, where the VZMD President took the opportunity to establish and deepen relationships with prominent conference participants and to present the opportunities offered by the VZMD international business-investor programs. On Thursday, the conference continued with the speech given by the Luxembourg Minister of Finance, Mr. Pierre Gramegna, and panel discussions addressing global trends and challenges in asset management involving internationally-recognized panelists.

Similarly, before that Mr. Verbič attended a gala dinner for the guests and speakers of honor in Sofia in addition to the numerous seminars and B2B business talks. Once again (and much like at the 2015 OECD Forum in Paris) Mr. Verbič shared his views with Ms. Danièle Nouy, President of the Supervisory Council of the European Central Bank (ECB), Ms. Sharon S. Yang, Director of the International Bank Markets and Securities Sector at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Mr. Paul A. Leder, Director of the Department of International Affairs at the Securities and Exchange Commission of the United States, Mr. Kaloyan Simeonov from the Directorate for the Regulation of Financial Markets at the Ministry of Finance in Bulgaria, Mr. Irmantas Šimonis, Deputy Head at the European Commission Directorate‑General for Economic and Financial Affairs, Mr. Michael Cole-Fontayin, President of the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), and Mr. Alois Thiant, Head of EU Institutions Relations at the French Asset Management Association (AFG) and many other participants.

In London, Mr. Verbič among others spoke briefly with the leading speaker at conference discussions, Mr. Michael Delan, Partner at PWC, an international corporation operating in the field of auditing, taxes, and consulting, Ms. Sara Saro McMahon, Executive Director of J.P. Morgan Asset Management Europe, Mr. Jacques Elvinger, Partner at the the legal advisory company Elvinger Hoss Prussen, Mr. Nigel Williams, President of the Royalton Partners S.A., a company operating in the field of crisis management, Mr. Jens Hoellermann, Executive Partner of Intabulis, a company operating in investment consulting, Mr. Daniel Barrett, Vice President of Foreign Assets Management at State Street Bank Luxembourg S.C.A., Ms. Benedicte Mazy, Director for Capital Markets at the Intertrust international group, and with other important representatives of European organizations, banks, international institutions and financial industry companies.

VZMD is in friendly relations with ALFI for more them seven years, and it is worth mentioning that Mr. Verbič has in November 2015 that year’s 9th tour within the efforts of the VZMD international business-investor programs Invest to Slovenia - investo.si and Interantional Investors’ Network - investo.international joined the representatives of the ALFI delegation on their “US Roadshow”, when they visited San Francisco, Chicago and New York.
