On Monday, the Slovene business delegation arrived to Pristina, accompanying the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr. Karl Erjavec, on his official visit, at the invitation of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Behgjet Isa Pacolli. The visit was organized jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the public agency SPIRIT Slovenia, the Slovenian Business Club in Pristina (EAC), and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (CCIS). In addition to the meeting of the joint commission for economic cooperation between Slovenia and Kosovo, Monday and Tuesday saw a number of events and activities aimed at fostering the economic cooperation between the two countries. The individual presentation programs were followed by a reception at the residence of the Slovene ambassador in Pristina, while Tuesday was dedicated to the resounding Kosovo-Slovenia Economic Forum.

More than 200 attendees were addressed by both ministers, Mr. Behgjet Isa Pacolli and Mr. Karl Erjavec, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kosovo, Mr. Safet Gerxhaliu, and the Head of the International Relations Department at CCIS, Mr. Ante Milevoj. Both ministers expressed satisfaction with commendable economic and other cooperation between the two countries, and stressed the importance of the visit for gaining new momentum.

After that, they signed the protocol of the meeting of the joint Slovene and Kosovo commission for economic cooperation. The presentation part of the forum included the presentation of the business and investment environment in Kosovo (Mr. Kreshnik Thaqi from Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency ‒ KIESA), the presentation of the education products offered by the Unit for Professional Education and Training at CCIS and the possibilities for knowledge transfer (Aleš Dremel, Head of the Unit), and the presentation of the Slovenian Business Club in Pristina (Mr. Bajram Fusha, Head of EAC).

The business forum kicked off with bilateral meetings (B2B) which involved no less than 18 Slovene and many Kosovo companies and institutions, where great interest was also expressed in the PanSlovenian Investors’ and Shareholders’ Association (VZMD) international business-investor programs Invest to Slovenia investo.si and International Investors' Network invest-to.net (VIDEO). In connection to these programs, Mr. Kristjan Verbič, the VZMD President, also took part in the visit to Pristina as a member of the business delegation. Mr. Verbič took this opportunity to talk with important guests and representatives of the business community, and establish and strengthen business relations.

This is not Mr. Verbič's first visit to Kosovo, since he had already visited the country during the 6th tour of the VZMD business-investor programs in June 2015 with the international delegation of business angels that took place as part of the tour to Madrid-Baku-Tirana-Pristina-Skopje-Paris-Taipei ‒ VIDEO.
