The 19thgeneral meeting of Gorenje, d.d. took place in Velenje on 5 July 2013. On that occasion, the president of VZMD (Pan-Slovenian Shareholders' Association), Mr. Kristjan Verbič, acted as an agent of 68,064 shares under authorizations by 322 shareholders, which he received as the ninth nominated authorized agent in view of organized collection of proxies,where 1,282 shareholders (out of 17,718 of Gorenje shareholders in total) granted their authorizations.
The general meeting was primarily marked by the disclosed strategic partnership between Gorenje and Panasonic, the Japanese corporation, which will further be backed by the capital ties. The details on the partnership were released also at the press conference which was organized immediately after the general meeting in Austrian Trend Hotel in Ljubljana. VZMD welcomes the disclosed strategic partnership all the more in terms of efforts of their international investments programs Invest to Slovenia - investo.si and International Investors` Network - invest-to.net, within which they made sure that Slovenian companies, business opportunities and investment projects were presented in Japan, in March this year. Presentations and business talks took place in the context of the economic delegation when the president of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, visited His Imperial Majesty Emperor Akihito of Japan and the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzō Abe. At that time, the members of the economic delegation, among them also the president of VZMD, Mr. Kristjan Verbič, visited also the Panasonic Center in Tokyo where they met up with the Panasonic corporation representatives (see photo).
